TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A new problem has surfaced in the iPhone 17 Pro line. After users previously complained about easily scratched bodies, some iPhone 17 Pro owners are now reporting sudden color changes in their phones.
Posts on Reddit show the iPhone 17 Pro Max in the Cosmic Orange variant changing to a pink or rose gold color. This color change occurred on the aluminum body, while the matte glass in the middle retained its original color.
According to a report from Gizmochina, similar cases were found in other models as well. A user on the MacRumors forum reported that their Deep Blue iPhone 17 Pro experienced a color change in the camera bar area.
The exact cause of the problem and its extent are not yet known. However, similar reports are beginning to emerge on various social media platforms, suggesting that quite a few users may be experiencing this problem.
A Reddit user speculated that the color change might be due to exposure to ultraviolet (UV) light, although this theory is doubted because Apple surely took into account device usage outdoors. For affected users, it is recommended to contact Apple Support promptly. As the devices are still under warranty, Apple can repair or replace the faulty units.
It's known that Apple made several major changes to the design of the iPhone 17 Pro this year, including a new camera module, a two-part back design, and a return to using aluminum material after two previous generations used titanium. This also marks the first time the Pro model has not been available in a dark or black color.
However, these changes seem to have unexpected consequences for some users as well. To date, Apple has not provided an official explanation regarding the cause of the color changes.
