Mining Sector Becomes Best Seller at Trade Expo Indonesia 2025

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta Indonesia's Trade and Industry Minister Budi Santoso stated that mining products were the most widely sold commodity group in the 40th Trade Expo Indonesia. "Mining products amounted to US$5.5 billion," said Budi at the ICE BSD building, South Tangerang, on Sunday, October 19, 2025.

The total transactions from the implementation of Trade Expo Indonesia held on October 15 to 19, 2025, amounted to US$22.8 billion or equivalent to Rp376.2 trillion. Budi predicted that the transaction value would increase by the end of the event.

The total value includes trade transactions of goods amounting to US$17.9 billion, trade in services worth US$443.7 million, and investments totaling US$4.37 billion. Budi said that the transaction achievement exceeded the target transaction value set at US$16.5 billion.

Budi stated that there were five product groups most sought after in this trade exhibition. Following mining products, precious metals ranked second as the most traded commodity group, with a transaction value of US$2.7 billion.

Meanwhile, palm oil and its derivatives contributed a total of US$2.3 billion. Charcoal and briquettes collected transactions worth US$1.6 billion, while spare parts were sold for US$1.4 billion.

Budi said the trade exhibition successfully attracted 34,550 visitors from 130 countries during its five-day duration. The number of visits, according to Budi, exceeded the targeted 30,000 people.

Meanwhile, the number of foreign buyers recorded was 8,045 from 130 countries. With the highest number from Malaysia at 769 buyers, China at 605 buyers, India at 594 buyers, Nigeria at 509 buyers, and Egypt at 406 buyers.

Based on transaction value, Budi identified the top five countries. India occupied the first position, conducting the most transactions at a value of US$4.3 billion.

Budi also noted that transactions generated by MSMEs reached US$474.7 million or equivalent to Rp7.8 trillion. "We have a commitment to continue increasing exports from our MSME colleagues," said the National Mandate Party politician.

The number of exhibition participants totaled 1,619. Most of the exhibition participants came from the food, beverage, and agricultural products sector, totaling 623 companies. Meanwhile, there were 603 companies in the fashion, lifestyle, and other zones. Lastly, there were 393 manufacturing and service sector companies, including textiles, footwear, automotive, surveyor services, and logistic services.
