TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia's National Nutrition Agency (BGN) is optimistic about being able to absorb the Rp36 trillion budget for the Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG) until early December 2025. BGN Head Dadan Hindayana said the remaining budget from the total of Rp71 trillion in the 2025 State Budget (APBN) would be fully utilized by the end of November.
"The 2025 State Budget of Rp71 trillion will be fully utilized by the end of November," said Dadan when confirmed by Tempo on Tuesday, October 28, 2025.
He added that the budget utilization is still ongoing and is expected to be fully absorbed in the first ten days of December. "The first ten days in December will be absorbed," he said.
On a separate occasion, Dadan reported that by the end of October 2025, the absorption of the Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG) budget had reached Rp35 trillion. Dadan mentioned that the acceleration of distribution is continuously being carried out so that the remaining Rp71 trillion budget allocated in the 2025 State Budget can be fully absorbed before the end of the year.
"As of today, the absorption of the budget has reached Rp35 trillion," Dadan said after a meeting finalizing the regulations governing MBG at the Ministry of Food Headquarters, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday, October 28, 2025.
Dadan explained that the budget needs in the last two months of this year will significantly increase. "Just for November, we need around Rp14 trillion, and in December, about Rp19 trillion. So clearly, it's not enough; we will have a shortage of about Rp28 trillion," he said.
Dadan says this shortfall will be covered by reserve funds allocated by the government to ensure the program's smooth implementation. "There are allocated reserve funds," said Dadan.
