TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Global K-pop idol group BTS and Cortis have secured three nominations each for the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs).
According to a report by Yonhap News Agency on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2026, and cited by Antara, both acts will compete in the "Best Group" category alongside other K-pop groups such as Blackpink and Katseye.
In addition to the "Best Group" nomination, BTS has also been nominated in the "Best Song" and "Best K-Pop" categories for their track "Swim," the lead single from their fifth album, *Arirang*.
BTS previously won in this category four consecutive times between 2019 and 2022, making them the group with the most wins in the event's history.
Meanwhile, Cortis has received nominations for "Best New Artist" and "Best K-Pop."
The 2026 VMAs will take place on September 27 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles and will be broadcast live on major U.S. networks. The awards show is considered one of the four major music award ceremonies in the United States.
A total of eight groups will compete in the "Best Group" category this year, including the four K-pop groups and the British girl group Flo.
