TEMPO.COJakarta - Hollywood model Gigi Hadid has finally spoken out on the sensitive issue of Jeffrey Epstein Files recently released by the US Department of Justice (DOJ), in which she is directly named.

In a December 2015 email exchange included in the documents and reported by E! News on Saturday, April 4th, 2026, as cited by Antara, an anonymous source asked Epstein about the professional success of Gigi and her sister, Bella Hadid.

How did the Hadid sisters became models and make so much money?! I don’t understand…,” the person wrote.

After Epstein replied, “You know,” the person replied, “The father paid the agency,” to which the convicted sex offender simply denied, “No.”

In a follow-up exchange, she added, “Because they follow directions, it’s that simple.”

When a social media user commented on Hadid’s March 29th Instagram post that they “had to unfollow” the 30-year-old model because she “ain’t talk bout those files,” Gigi responded that the contents of the documents “made me sick to my stomach.”

Horrible to read someone you’ve never met speak about you that way. Especially in this context,” she explained in a message on March 30.

I didn’t comment bc I don’t want to take away from the stories of real victims of his; but your comment made me realize maybe its not clear—and it’s important to let you know,” Gigi added.

Gigi, who has a 5-year-old daughter, Khai, with her ex-partner Zayn Malik, explained that although she grew up in affluent circumstances, her parents, Mohamed Hadid and Yolanda Hadid, always protected her and taught her the value of hard work.

She also added that since joining a modeling agency in 2012, “I’ve worked hard every moment since.”

To be named in those files, I think I was 20-21 at the time he would have written that email—is disturbing. And I want to state unequivocally that I have never had any affiliation with that disgusting human being,” Gigi asserted.

Epstein—who had previously pleaded guilty to charges of procuring a minor for prostitution and soliciting prostitution—was arrested in July 2019 and charged with child sex trafficking and conspiracy to commit child sex trafficking. He died by suicide in prison a few weeks later.
