TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Bank HSBC Indonesia announced the appointment of Stuart Rogers as the new President Director of HSBC Indonesia on Thursday, October 6, 2025. Previously, Stuart served as the Regional Head of International Markets for HSBC Commercial Banking based in Singapore.

Stuart effectively replaced Francois de Maricourt on November 2, 2025. As the new President Director, Stuart will oversee approximately 2,300 HSBC employees throughout Indonesia, where the company has a presence in 12 cities.

The President Commissioner of HSBC Indonesia, Martin Haythorne, congratulated Stuart on his appointment. "I hope to work closely with him for the next stage of growth and development of the bank, becoming the preferred international bank in Indonesia," he said in an official statement on Thursday, October 6, 2025.

With over 25 years of experience in the banking industry in the Asia Pacific region, including Australia, Hong Kong, Sri Lanka, and most recently in Singapore for nine years, HSBC Indonesia believes that, as an experienced banker, Stuart has a strong track record in driving strategic growth, risk management, human resource development, and organizational transformation. This includes leading the strategic integration of PT Bank Ekonomi Raharja Tbk with HSBC branches in Indonesia into PT Bank HSBC Indonesia.

This experience is believed to provide a regional perspective and a deep understanding of the strategic challenges and opportunities facing the banking industry.

HSBC has operated in Indonesia since 1885, when it was established to facilitate the sugar trade in Batavia. As a member of the HSBC group, it provides universal banking services to corporate, institutional, and retail customers in Indonesia.
