TEMPO.CO, Jakarta Heartbreaking news recently landed on the eyes of ENGENEs as BELIFT LAB announced the departure of Heeseung from the K-pop group ENHYPEN.

On Tuesday, March 10, the label released an official statement explaining that the decision came after in-depth and extensive deliberation regarding both Heeseung’s individual future and ENHYPEN’s path forward.

“Through deep conversations about each member’s vision for the future and the team’s direction, we confirmed that Heeseung has a clear musical path he wishes to pursue. After careful consideration, we decided to respect it.”

Belift Lab further explained that “Heeseung will be independent from the ENHYPEN group, and ENHYPEN will proceed with activities under a 6-member structure starting from official schedules moving forward.” The statement added, “ENHYPEN will continue to give its all,” noting that “Heeseung will meet everyone with a solo album as an artist under Belift Lab.”

As The Korea Times reports, the 24-year-old singer also shared a handwritten letter with fans on the fan platform Weverse. Heeseung acknowledged the concerns fans may have about the news, writing that his sincere hope is to “return to you with an even better version of myself.”

The performer also expressed gratitude to the fans and former bandmates, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo, Jungwon, and Ni-Ki, writing, “The past six years have been filled with moments that are difficult to put into words — moments that were overwhelmingly meaningful and incredibly precious to me. Sharing so many emotions with the members and having ENGENEs always there to support us helped me move closer, step by step, to a dream that once felt out of reach. I truly believe none of this would have been possible without you.”

ENHYPEN is a K-pop boy group formed in 2020 through the reality competition series I-Land, according to People. The group will now continue with six members, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo, Jungwon, and Ni-Ki, following the departure of Heeseung, the group’s oldest member.
