TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Swiss tennis legend Roger Federer received his International Tennis Hall of Fame ring at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York on Tuesday Western Indonesian Time (WIB), just two days after being officially inducted into the Hall of Fame in Newport.

Federer received the ring from Kim Clijsters, the Vice President of the International Tennis Hall of Fame and a Hall of Famer herself since 2017. The ceremony took place during the 2026 US Open.

"It’s great to be back in New York," Federer said, as quoted by the ATP and cited by Antara.

After receiving the ring, Federer put it on and raised his hand to show it to the crowd. He also raised a fist, drawing loud cheers from the spectators at Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Federer was officially inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame on Saturday (August 28) alongside former American player and broadcaster Mary Carillo. This honor adds to the long list of achievements in his career.

Throughout his professional career, Federer won 103 tour-level titles, including 20 Grand Slam titles. He also spent a total of 310 weeks ranked as the world number one by the ATP.

"I’ve had the chance to look back at all the amazing people who helped me along the way, the sport I love so much, and what it has given me," Federer said.

Earlier, Federer also participated in an exhibition match at the US Open last week, appearing alongside several former world number one players.

He played one set against Andy Roddick before teaming up with John McEnroe to face the duo of Roddick and Andre Agassi.

Roger Federer's presence at this year's US Open marked a special moment for the former world number one, as his last appearance as a player at the hard-court Grand Slam tournament had been in 2019.
