TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Line Dance can be one of the ways to stay fit. Line Dance instructor, Iyan, stated that Line Dance is an excellent sport for health. "This exercise helps improve heart fitness, enhances balance, and strengthens body muscles, especially in the legs and hips. Additionally, this activity is enjoyable and can help reduce stress," he said in a press release received by Tempo on April 11, 2026.

To obtain optimal benefits, Iyan recommends that Line Dance should be done regularly about 2 to 3 times a week with a minimum duration of 30-45 minutes per session.

Not only for entertainment, Line Dance has various proven health benefits. This activity includes moderate-intensity cardio exercise capable of burning about 200-400 calories per hour, depending on the intensity of the movements. The repetitive movements in line dance also effectively improve body coordination, balance, and strengthen muscles, especially in the legs and core.

Furthermore, Line Dance also plays a role in maintaining heart health by stabilizing heart rate. If done regularly, this activity can help reduce the risk of various diseases such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and obesity. From a mental perspective, this dance-based exercise is also capable of improving mood, reducing stress, and maintaining psychological health because it involves music and social interaction.

In commemoration of World Health Day, celebrated annually on April 7, Holywings Peduli organized a Line Dance exercise event in Surabaya on April 11, 2026. This event is part of an effort to encourage the community to adopt a healthy lifestyle through enjoyable and easy-to-follow sports.

150 participants from the Graha Famili community and the Roca exercise group in Surabaya participated in this activity. The Line Dance participants had arrived since 8:00 AM. With energetic music playing, the participants appeared enthusiastic in following every Line Dance move guided by professional instructors. Besides being a group exercise, this activity also serves as a means to build togetherness and social interaction within the community.

The Commissioner of Holywings Group and Chairman of the CSR Program Holywings Peduli, Andrew Susanto, stated that his team chose Line Dance as the activity for the World Health Day commemoration because this exercise is easy for all ages, from young people to the elderly. "In addition to promoting heart health and improving physical fitness, Line Dance also brings a fun atmosphere, motivating the community to exercise regularly and maintain health," said Andrew Susanto.
