
TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A Palestinian citizen named Abdul Karim Raed Miqdad has been deported from Indonesia to Cyprus. Indonesian authorities carried out the deportation process for Abdul Karim at the request of the National Central Bureau (NCB) Interpol Nicosia, Cyprus.
The Secretary of NCB Interpol Indonesia, Brigadier General Untung Widyatmoko, stated that Abdul Karim is listed in the Interpol red notice. "In accordance with the Interpol red notice, which was a request from NCB Nicosia, Cyprus," said Untung when confirmed on Saturday, July 18, 2026.
According to the Geneva Council for Rights & Liberties Report, Abdul Karim was arrested in Indonesia on July 16, 2026. He was deported to Cyprus the following day. On Saturday morning, Abdul Karim was reported to have arrived in Cyprus safely.
Abdul Karim is suspected to have been included in the red notice of Interpol Nicosia on charges of terrorism in Cyprus. According to the Geneva Council report, Cypriot authorities have not detailed the evidence of terrorism allegations against Abdul Karim.
