TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia's Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has carried out an Operation Tangkap Tangan (OTT), or “sting operation,” in Riau province, resulting in the arrest of the province’s Governor, Abdul Wahid.
“Yes,” confirmed KPK Deputy Chairman Fitroh Rohcahyanto to Tempo on Monday, November 3, 2025, when asked about the Governor’s involvement. He did not provide details on the specific allegations.
KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo said a total of 10 individuals, all state officials, were apprehended in the operation.
“We will provide further updates on the identities of those detained,” Budi said at the KPK headquarters in South Jakarta on Monday.
He added that the arrests occurred across Riau Province and that the detainees will be brought to the KPK office on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.
“The team is still in the field and the operation is progressing,” he said.
