TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The personnel of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police Department (Polda Metro Jaya) are still investigating the case of the death of a man named Sutrimo. The victim, who is a native of Banyumas, Central Java, was found dead on Thursday, July 23, 2026, around 09:00 WIB (Western Indonesian Time).
The Chief of the Public Relations Division of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police Department, Grand Commissioner Budi Hermanto, stated that they are still delving into the chronology of the victim's death. "As the process is still ongoing, we have not been able to conclude the cause of death," said Budi in his statement to reporters on Sunday, July 26, 2026.
The police are gathering information and clarifying the incident with the family, ambulance driver, hospital staff, and other parties who were aware of the event. Investigators are also studying medical record data, ambulance booking history, the initial location where Sutrimo was found, and other related information.
Based on information compiled by Tempo, Sutrimo, 42, is suspected to be the former household head at the residence of the former Deputy Attorney General of Special Crimes at the Attorney General's Office (AGO), Febrie Adriansyah. On the day of the incident around 07:30 WIB, the deceased complained of feeling unwell to a colleague and asked to be taken to the nearest hospital.
The colleague then took Sutrimo to the Mordent esthetic clinic in the Kramat Pela area, South Jakarta. While at the clinic, Sutrimo was reported to have vomited and foamed at the mouth. The colleague then requested an ambulance. However, when the ambulance personnel arrived, Sutrimo had already passed away.
Budi stated that they will also investigate the connection of the victim with several other parties, including the former high-ranking official. "Still under investigation," said Budi.
Observations by Tempo at the clinic location show that the building is no longer operational. Information from several residents around the area stated that the clinic had been closed for a long time and unoccupied.
One of the officers from the Community Security and Order Officer or Bhabinkamtibmas around the location mentioned that the clinic is allegedly connected to Febrie Adriansyah. However, the investigators are still delving into this information.
The police urge the public not to speculate or spread unverified information. "We will provide updates on the investigation results once we obtain accountable facts," said Budi.
Meanwhile, Tempo is attempting to verify the news that Sutrimo was the former household head of the former Deputy Attorney General of Special Crimes, Febrie Adriansyah. Febrie's lawyer, Febri Diansyah, responded to the message sent by Tempo, but did not answer questions regarding Sutrimo.
