TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to witness the handover of state-confiscated goods at PT Tinindo Internusa in the Bangka Belitung Islands on Monday, October 6, 2025.
The event forms part of the government’s ongoing supervision and evaluation of the Forest Area Arrangement Task Force, which is responsible for regulating forest zones and managing mineral resources in the region.
According to the Indonesian Presidential Secretariat, Prabowo arrived earlier that day at Depati Amir Airport in Bangka Tengah Regency, accompanied by State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, and Head of the Government Communication Agency Angga Raka Prabowo.
He was welcomed by Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, Bangka Belitung Governor Hidayat Arsani, Commander of the Sriwijaya Military Region II Major General Ujang Darwis, and Bangka Belitung Police Chief Inspector General Hendro Pandowo.
From the airport, President Prabowo proceeded directly to PT Tinindo Internusa. The Presidential Secretariat stated that the visit reflects the government’s commitment to strengthening natural resource governance and ensuring that state assets recovered through law enforcement can be used for the public good.
The Forest Area Arrangement Task Force was established under Presidential Regulation (Perpres) No. 5 of 2025 on Forest Area Arrangement, signed by President Prabowo on January 21, 2025.
As of August 2025, the task force has reclaimed 3.33 million hectares of state forest land previously used for illegal oil palm plantations. It has also begun regulating state forest areas exploited for illegal mining activities.
The task force identified over 4.26 million hectares of mining land operating without a Forest Area Borrowing Permit (IPPKH).
