
TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto received a visit from former Vice President Jusuf Kalla at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Thursday, June 11, 2026. According to Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, the meeting was held upon request from Kalla.
According to Teddy, Jusuf Kalla would come with his son, an active player in the business realm. "Pak Vice President Jusuf Kalla requested a meeting with President Prabowo a few days ago. He will come with his son, who is also a businessman," said Teddy in his statement on Thursday, June 11, 2026.
Teddy stated that President Prabowo continues to open up communication with various national figures. The meeting with Kalla, he said, is part of the effort to strengthen unity and build collaboration for the advancement of the nation.
Prabowo and Jusuf Kalla, along with his son, discussed the matters of energy and peace. During the meeting, Prabowo was accompanied by the State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
Kalla appeared to leave the meeting room at the Merdeka Palace around 03:26 p.m. Jakarta time. "This afternoon, I just had a long chat with Bapak President to bolster Indonesia's energy capacity, which we refer to as 'energy self-sufficiency,'" said Kalla after the discussion.
In addition, Jusuf Kalla said that he and Prabowo also spoke about the geopolitical state of the world. "We talked about peace. Earlier, we also discussed what is happening in countries like Thailand, Afghanistan," he said.
