TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo permitted BIGBANG to hold a concert at the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) in North Jakarta, ANTARA reported.
However, he advised that activities during the concert should not damage the grass on the field, which is currently being repaired.
"If you want to play anywhere, go ahead, whatever you want, including playing at JIS," said Pramono in the Joglo area, West Jakarta, on Thursday.
He also reminded the organizers to maintain the condition of the stadium field. According to him, the JIS field grass is currently being treated to improve its quality and make it suitable for various activities.
"The most important thing is not to damage the grass nursery," said Pramono.
He said that JIS grass maintenance has now progressed compared to before. If the field is used for large events such as concerts, he said, the restoration process is not expected to take too long.
"When you play at JIS, the recovery time isn't what it used to be, almost a month or two. Now, maybe a week or two is possible," said Pramono.
He also emphasized that the Jakarta Provincial Government does not restrict the use of JIS for entertainment or sports activities as long as organizers comply with applicable regulations.
According to him, the most important thing is that all stadium facilities are maintained so that they can continue to be used for various large-scale activities.
Previously, JIS has been used several times for music concerts, by both domestic and international musicians. The stadium, which has a capacity of tens of thousands of spectators, is also one of the locations for various sporting matches and major events in Jakarta.
Pramono hopes that JIS can continue to be used optimally, without disrupting the quality of the stadium field.
