TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Google introduces the Ask Maps feature for Google Maps service users in Indonesia. This feature offers AI-based support to facilitate daily mobility and travel throughout Indonesia.
According to a Google press release on Wednesday, citing ANTARA, the Gemini AI-based conversation feature is now accessible in Indonesian and English. Support for multiple local languages will be rolled out gradually over the next few weeks.
The Ask Maps feature has been released in 150 countries and can help users explore different places and plan trips. Google Maps users can use the Ask Maps feature to create travel plans, such as planning a three-hour motorcycle tour in a scenic area or finding a quiet cafe for a chat.
In addition to providing real-time information, the Ask Maps feature is supported by Personal Intelligence which is connected to a Gmail account to understand user preferences based on proof of hotel reservations or flight tickets.
In celebration of Indonesian Independence Day, Google is launching the "Explore the Archipelago Closer" campaign. The campaign invites users to discover new things around them and learn more about the archipelago with the help of Ask Maps.
Service users can use this feature to find legendary culinary spots, aesthetic alleys, and cultural heritage sites while on vacation.
