
TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia’s Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has warned that large-scale atmospheric patterns, including the Madden–Julian Oscillation (MJO) and equatorial waves, will continue to influence rainfall across parts of the country over the coming week, sustaining the risk of heavy to very heavy rain in several regions.
BMKG has issued early warnings for heavy to very heavy rainfall in several regions:
May 5–7: North Sumatra, South Sumatra, Bangka Belitung Islands, Banten, Central Java, Central Sulawesi, West Sulawesi, North Maluku, Maluku, Central Papua, Highland Papua, and Papua.
May 8–11: Aceh, West Sulawesi, and Highland Papua.
