TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Hundreds of foreign nationals are involved in the operation of online gambling and scams at the Hayam Wuruk Plaza Tower, West Jakarta. This was discovered as police raided the international online gambling network operated by foreigners from several Asian countries.

Based on the photos received by Tempo, the workers occupied a section of the area in the 21-story building. Rows of monitors occupied the spacious room.

The police kicked off the raid and probed the workers since late Friday, May 8, 2026.

As of Saturday afternoon, at around 02:30 p.m. Jakarta time, fully armed Mobile Brigade personnel were still guarding the entrance of the building.

"Personnel from the Mobile Brigade of the Jakarta Metro Police were deployed to the location to provide security support," said the Head of Public Relations of the Jakarta Metro Police, Commissioner Budi Hermanto, in a written statement.

The Director of General Crimes of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Indonesian National Police, Brigadier General Wira Satya Triputra, also arrived at the location around 11:00 a.m. local time. Until late afternoon, the investigators were still inside the Hayam Wuruk Plaza Tower.

According to information obtained by Tempo, the raid was reportedly linked to a large-scale online gambling network allegedly controlled by Chinese citizens.
