TEMPO.CO, Jakarta The Indonesian National Police (Polri) aims to build 1,500 Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG), or better known by the name of "free meal (MBG) kitchen", throughout Indonesia. The Chief of Police, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, conveyed this target at the corn harvest festival and the launch of a food warehouse project and free nutritious meal public kitchen owned by the Police in Tuban, East Java, on Saturday, May 16, 2026.

Sigit stated that the Police (Polri) currently has 1,376 kitchens to support the MBG program. "In 2026, the Police aims to continue construction of up to 1,500 SPPGs throughout Indonesia," Sigit said as reported on the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube channel.

According to Sigit, the construction of SPPGs aims to strengthen and oversee President Prabowo Subianto's flagship program. He aims to expand the reach of nutrition fulfillment services to have a real impact on improving the welfare of the people.

Sigit also claimed that all SPPGs owned by the Police have obtained several certificates to ensure the food's quality and safety. "Food Handler's Certificate, Hygiene and Sanitation Eligibility Certificate, Halal Product Assurance Certificate, Laboratory Water Test Certificate, and consistent application of food safety principles," he said.

He detailed that the Police's 1,376 SPPGs consist of 736 units that are already operational, 172 units in preparation for operation, and 486 units in the construction phase. Sigit claimed that all SPPGs could benefit 3.44 million people and provide employment for 68,800 workers when they are fully operational.
