TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has called on Saudi Arabia to remove US troops from its territory, as tensions escalate across the Middle East involving Iran, the United States, and Israel.

Iran respects the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and considers it a brotherly nation,” Araghchi said via platform X on Tuesday, March 31.

He added that Iran’s military operations are aimed only at those it considers aggressors.

Our operations are aimed at enemy aggressors who have no respect for Arabs or Iranians, nor can provide any security... Just look at what we did to their aerial command. High time to eject US forces,” he said.

Attack on US Base in Saudi Arabia

Araghchi’s statement follows an Iranian strike on a US military base in Saudi Arabia, which reportedly destroyed early warning aircraft and air control systems, according to TRT World.

The attack severely damaged the back of an E-3 Sentry aircraft at Prince Sultan Air Base, roughly 128 kilometers southeast of Riyadh, injuring several US personnel. At least one aircraft was reportedly destroyed in the strike.

Conflict Enters Day 32

The conflict between Iran and the US-led coalition, alongside Israel, has now entered its 32nd day, with ongoing aerial attacks in multiple regions of Iran.

In an interview with Al Jazeera, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that communication with Tehran continues through intermediaries. He added that the US could achieve its war objectives “in a matter of weeks, not months.”

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump has threatened to destroy Iran’s main oil export hub, including Kharg Island, oil wells, and power plants if a diplomatic resolution is not reached.

Strategic Impacts on Oil Trade

Iranian government media reported that a parliamentary commission has approved plans to impose fees on vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz, a critical trade route for global oil and gas, now affected by the conflict.

The Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps also confirmed the death of its navy commander, Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri, who was killed in a previous Israeli attack.
