TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Indonesia's Jakarta Metro Police have apprehended four admins of an international online gambling network from various regions. Another suspect is still at large and is believed to be overseas.

The Cyber Crime Directorate of the Metro Jaya Regional Police uncovered the network after tracing a gambling website called 1XBET. "From this gambling website, we uncovered the existence of an international gambling network syndicate," said Chief of Sub-directorate IV of the Cyber Crime Directorate of the Metro Jaya Regional Police, Grand Commissioner Grawas Sugiharto to reporters on Tuesday, June 30, 2026.

The police have designated five individuals as suspects divided into three clusters. The first cluster constitutes a group of "account collectors" operating in Cianjur, West Java.

The suspect with the initials APS acted as the coordinator who sought individuals to act as nominees, using their personal data to open accounts later used in online gambling activities.

The second cluster operated in Banjarmasin. Three suspects, namely SGR, AC, and WS, acted as admin coordinators. "They were tasked with receiving orders from our DPO, Mr. WN, who is abroad," said Sugiharto. In addition, the three suspects documented the flow of gambling funds through the 1XBET website using a chatting application.

The third cluster constitutes the controlling network abroad. Until now, the police are still pursuing suspect WN, who has been detected to be outside Indonesia. "But from the movements, they are in Vietnam and Malaysia actively communicating with the suspects through a chatting application," said Sugiharto.

From the suspects, the police confiscated evidence such as laptops, cellphones, and 23 accounts installed on each gadget of the perpetrators.

The police also blocked 75 accounts related to online gambling with a total balance of Rp119 million. "Both directly receiving and as layering," said Sugiharto. Sugiharto estimates that the network has generated revenue of more than Rp2 billion from April 2024 to June 2026.

The four suspects are charged with Article 45 paragraph (3) jo Article 27 paragraph (2) of the Electronic Information and Transactions Law. In addition, the police also charge them with Article 426 and/or Article 427 and/or Article 607 paragraph (1) letter a, letter b, letter c jo Article 20 and/or Article 21 of the Criminal Code Law, with a maximum prison sentence of five years.
