TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto and President Alexander Lukashenko have officially launched the Indonesia–Belarus Bilateral Cooperation Roadmap 2026–2030. The document was announced following a meeting between the two leaders at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Thursday, July 2, 2026.

Prabowo stated that the roadmap will serve as a framework for developing relations between the two nations over the next five years. "This roadmap reflects a shared commitment to more focused and concrete cooperation," Prabowo said during a joint press conference with Lukashenko at the Palace.

According to Prabowo, cooperation between Indonesia and Belarus will be bolstered across various strategic sectors, ranging from agriculture and industry to socio-cultural initiatives. In the area of food security, both countries agreed to expand partnerships involving fertilizers, agricultural tools and technology, and heavy machinery.

"Indonesia and Belarus possess complementary potential to strengthen cooperation in modern agriculture, fertilizers, agricultural tools and technology, and heavy equipment," he noted.

In the economic sector, the two nations will also expand partnerships designed to support their respective national development agendas. The core focus will include industrial development, agricultural modernization, supply chain integration, and technological collaboration.

The Gerindra Party chairperson also expressed his appreciation for Belarus' ratification of the free trade agreement between Indonesia and the Eurasian Economic Union. Indonesia is currently finalizing its own ratification process for the free trade pact, which encompasses Indonesia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia.

In the industrial sector, both countries identify opportunities to increase investment and form joint ventures, particularly within manufacturing, automotive production, heavy vehicles, and agro-industry. Furthermore, cooperation will extend into social, cultural, and human resource development through cultural exchanges, partnerships between educational institutions, and vocational training programs.

Prabowo noted that the Indonesian and Belarusian delegations also shook hands on several cooperation documents covering health, culture, national accreditation, financial transaction reporting, industry, science and technology, and financial services.

He added that Indonesia and Belarus enjoy strong relations in the defense sector and expressed hope that the various agreements reached would be executed swiftly. "We hope this cooperation can be implemented soon so that it will provide tangible benefits in the near future for both countries," he said.

On the same occasion, President Lukashenko emphasized that Belarus stands ready to meet all targets in the cooperation roadmap leading up to 2030. According to him, food security remains one of the main priorities.

Belarus, Lukashenko continued, is prepared to support increased food production in Indonesia through technology transfer, agricultural mechanization, and various technical solutions developed by his country. "We want to emphasize once again that there are no closed areas for cooperation between Belarus and Indonesia, from food security to high-tech industry," Lukashenko said.
