TEMPO.CO, Jakarta Indonesia’s People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) and the House of Representatives (DPR) are scheduled to receive a visit from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday evening.

This was confirmed by Deputy Speaker of the MPR, Bambang Wuryanto, who also accepted the invitation. Modi is scheduled to visit the parliament complex at 4:00 p.m. Western Indonesian Time (WIB).

"There are guests from the Indian Prime Minister. There's an invitation, and we will accept it," Bambang said at the parliament complex in Jakarta on Tuesday, as quoted by ANTARA.

Previously, President Prabowo Subianto received a visit from PM Modi at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday to strengthen several pillars of strategic cooperation between the two countries.

The welcoming ceremony began with the playing of both countries' national anthems: the Indian national anthem, followed by the Indonesian national anthem, "Indonesia Raya."

Next, the two held a tete-a-tete meeting in President Prabowo's office, followed by a bilateral meeting, a state banquet at the State Palace, and closed with a joint statement.

PM Modi is scheduled to spend two days in Indonesia. During this working visit, he will visit Prambanan Temple and sign several memorandums of understanding.

Regarding the visit to the Prambanan Temple, this is part of the cooperation between Indonesia and India in efforts to restore the temple.
